Recognizing
that the geographical isolation of rural communities in New York makes
it difficult sometimes to access information on the latest and most innovative
methods of community and affordable housing development, the NYS Rural
Housing Coalition has developed a training agenda to keep New York’s rural
housing providers and community development officials, as well as other
interested community leaders, abreast of changes in the field. These seminars
and courses are held in conjunction with the Coalition’s annual conference
each fall, as well as at regional sites across the state at other times
throughout the year.
Seminars
and courses have covered a variety of topics, including development finance,
effective management of non-profit agencies, and other topics as the need
arises. Courses that are currently planned are listed below.
The
Coalition staff makes every effort to design training programs that are
timely and useful to our rural audience. If you need training in a particular
area of community development, please let us know. We do take suggestions
for trainings seriously. Just send us an email with your training suggestion(s)
by clicking here.
If you are a trainer and
would like to submit your qualifications please click here,

Permanent Affordability of Assisted
Homeownership
This online presentation graphically
explains how homeownership subsidy strategies that retain the subsidy in
a permanent manner greatly expand the benefit of that subsidy to additional
lower-income families.
