| Housing professionals from
across New York were delighted at the selection of this year’s awardee
for outstanding community service. Pat Sgarlata retired this year from
the Affordable Housing Corporation. Virtually any agency administering
an AHC program relied on Ms. Sgarlata for information or assistance with
liens or mortgage subordination documents. Yet few people had ever met
her in person. It was a double delight to recognize her contribution to
the success of affordable housing efforts in the state, but also to be
able to finally meet her. Pat and her husband Phil joined attendees
at the Coalition’s annual conference to receive the award, and had attended
the wine tasting fund raiseron October 1st to meet and mingle with people
she had worked with over the years.
We wish Pat the greatest
joy in her retirement, along with thanks for years of devoted service.
