To
promote historic preservation planning on the local government level. Certification
enables participating communities to access a number of federal funding
programs for historic preservation projects and activities. |

Activites: Architectural, historical, archeological surveys; oral histories;
nominations to the National Register of Historic Places; staff work for
historic preservation commissions; design guidelines; rehab or restoration
of National Register-listed properties. |
