Program Name: Certified Local Government Program

 
Purpose: To promote historic preservation planning on the local government level. Certification enables participating communities to access a number of federal funding programs for historic preservation projects and activities.

 
Eligible Applicants: Municipalities

 
Eligible Activites: Architectural, historical, archeological surveys; oral histories; nominations to the National Register of Historic Places; staff work for historic preservation commissions; design guidelines; rehab or restoration of National Register-listed properties.

 
Form of Assistance: Grants, matching grants, seed money
