About Us
The New York State Rural Housing Coalition, Inc. was formed in 1979 as a nonprofit corporation. Supported by more than 200 member organizations, the Coalition is committed to providing safe, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income rural New Yorkers.
The Brewster Building was built in 1887 as the Albany Business College, which occupied the site until 1933. In the 1970’s, the building was slated for demolition following decades of neglect. Instead, it was purchased and renovated into office space, a restaurant, and an owner’s apartment in the penthouse. The offices feature high ceilings, large windows and a mix of exposed brick and original wood detail such as the wainscoted ceilings. Come see us!
